The citizens of Austin wanted a pavilion in the park;
the scale of the project demanded utility and strength.
The exposed Glulam trusses and laminated roof deck
give the canopy that desired effect, while seamlessly
integrating the structural and aesthetic elements
of this award winning facility.
- Trusses were fabricated and pre-assembled in Western
Archrib Facility in Edmonton and trucked to Austin.
- Design demanded each truss be different. The
challenge was met with flexibility on the manufacturing
floor and a flexible setup for truss assembly.
- The largest volume Glulam project in North America
in 2001 was delivered on time and on budget.
