Challenged by the sterile sameness of concrete and steel recreation facilities, the architects of the West Vancouver Aquatic Centre envisioned a space filled with sweeping curves and clean lines – only glulam could meet the structural and esthetical requirements. The use of natural materials and modern elements reflect the blend of natural and urban landscapes in the commanding view of West Vancouver from the facility.
